 KKPM and St. René Goupil Parish observe Flores de Mayo—May’s joyful devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Originating in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial period, Flores de Mayo (“Flowers of May”) is a month‑long Marian festival in which fresh blossoms serve as symbols of love, purity, and gratitude. Each day, families and children place flowers at Mary’s altar, pray the rosary, and sing Marian hymns, turning the church into a living garden of prayer. The daily rituals honor Mary’s maternal care, seek her intercession, and deepen communal bonds through shared faith and cultural heritage. At month’s end, a festive procession—often called the Santacruzan—celebrates the journey of faith, with flower‑adorned images and vibrant pageantry highlighting Mary’s role as Queen of Heaven and spiritual mother to all.
